TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
These Terms and Conditions of Service ("Terms") apply to all appointments and treatments booked with Hairworx Hair, Beauty, Skin and Wellness, whether booked in person, by telephone, via our website, or through any third-party booking platform.
Please read them carefully before booking.
By making a booking with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About Us
Hairworx Hair, Beauty, Skin and Wellness is a hair and beauty salon based in Par, Cornwall, United Kingdom. Our services include hair, colour, styling, barbering, tanning, massage, nails, facials, float therapy, teeth whitening and holistic counselling.
2. Bookings
2.1 Making a Booking
Appointments can be made in person at the salon, by telephone, via our website, or through any online booking system we make available. A booking is confirmed once you receive confirmation from us.
2.2 Booking Confirmation
We will send you confirmation of your appointment by your chosen contact method. It is your responsibility to ensure the details are correct. Please contact us immediately if anything is wrong.
2.3 New Clients
We welcome all new clients. We may ask you to complete a consultation card and health questionnaire before your first appointment. This helps us provide the safest and most suitable treatment for you.
3. Cancellations and No-Shows
3.1 Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans change. We ask that you give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
• Cancellations made with more than 24 hours notice: no charge.
• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice: we reserve the right to charge up to 50% of the treatment cost.
• Failure to attend without notice (no-show): we reserve the right to charge up to 100% of the treatment cost.
3.2 Repeated Cancellations
Clients who repeatedly cancel at short notice or fail to attend may be required to pay a deposit to secure future bookings.
3.3 Deposits
We may require a non-refundable deposit for certain treatments or at our discretion. This will be communicated to you at the time of booking. Your deposit will be deducted from your final bill on the day of your appointment.
3.4 Our Right to Cancel
In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. We will give you as much notice as possible and make every effort to offer you an alternative time. We will not charge you any cancellation fee in this situation.
4. Arriving for Your Appointment
Please aim to arrive a few minutes before your appointment time. If you are running late, please let us know as soon as possible. Arriving significantly late may mean we are unable to complete your full treatment, and the full treatment price may still apply.
We ask that you do not bring extra guests or children to your appointment unless they also have a booking, as space in the salon is limited.
5. Patch Tests
Certain treatments, including but not limited to hair colour, tinting and some skin treatments, require a patch (allergy) test to be carried out at least 48 hours before the appointment.
If you are a new client, or if it has been more than six months since your last patch test with us, or if you have changed any relevant medication, you must have a patch test before proceeding.
We reserve the right to refuse treatment if a patch test has not been carried out, or if a reaction has been noted. This is for your safety. No charge will apply if we are unable to treat you for this reason.
6. Consultations and Health Information
Before certain treatments, particularly chemical services, float therapy, massage and holistic counselling, we may ask you to complete a health questionnaire or consultation form.
It is your responsibility to disclose any relevant medical conditions, allergies, skin conditions, medications or other factors that may affect your treatment. Failure to do so may result in your treatment being refused, or may affect the outcome of your treatment, for which we cannot be held responsible.
If you are pregnant, please inform us when booking. Some treatments may not be suitable during pregnancy and we will advise you accordingly.
7. Prices
Our current treatment prices are available in the salon and on our website at www.hairworxpar.co.uk. Prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
Prices may change from time to time. The price you are quoted at the time of booking is the price you will pay, unless the scope of your treatment changes following consultation on the day.
We will always inform you of any change to the expected price before carrying out additional work.
8. Payment
Payment is due at the time of your appointment unless otherwise agreed. We accept cash and card payments. Please check with us for our current accepted payment methods.
Deposits paid at the time of booking will be deducted from your total on the day.
9. Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are available for purchase in the salon and may be available online. The following conditions apply:
• Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated.
• Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
• Lost or stolen vouchers cannot be replaced.
• Vouchers are non-refundable once purchased.
• Any remaining balance on a voucher after a treatment will be retained as credit on the voucher for future use within the valid period.
10. Treatments: Specific Conditions
10.1 Hair Colour
Hair colour results depend on many factors including your existing hair condition, colour history and the health of your hair. We will carry out a full consultation before any colour service. We cannot guarantee exact results, particularly where the condition or history of your hair is unknown to us. We recommend regular treatments and maintenance to achieve the best results.
10.2 Float Therapy
Float therapy (flotation) involves lying in a tank of warm, highly salinated water. Clients must not use the float tank if they have any open wounds, skin infections, communicable diseases, or certain medical conditions. A full list of contraindications is available in the salon. By booking float therapy, you confirm you are aware of any relevant contraindications and that you are fit to undertake the treatment.
10.3 Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment carried out under our Smile Revive brand within the Hairworx salon. Clients must be aged 18 or over for teeth whitening treatments.
Teeth whitening is effective on natural teeth. Crowns and veneers can be treated, but results are limited to restoring them to the original shade they were fitted at. We cannot lighten crowns or veneers beyond that original colour.
We are unable to carry out teeth whitening on clients who have sore, inflamed or bleeding gums. This is for your safety. Please ensure your gums are in good health before booking. If we identify this on the day, we will need to postpone your treatment and no charge will apply.
Results vary between individuals and we cannot guarantee specific outcomes.
10.4 Holistic Counselling
Holistic counselling is a complementary therapy. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you have any mental or physical health concerns, please consult your GP or appropriate healthcare professional. Any information shared during a counselling session is treated with strict confidentiality, subject to our professional obligations and duty of care.
10.5 Tanning
We offer tanning using lie-down and stand-up tanning beds. Tanning beds are available to clients aged 18 and over only. We will ask for proof of age if required.
We recommend exfoliating your skin before your session for the best results. Please do not use moisturiser, perfume or deodorant immediately before your session. Follow all safety instructions provided in the tanning room.
Clients with certain skin types or medical conditions may not be suitable for tanning bed use. Please speak to a member of our team if you have any concerns before booking. We are not responsible for any skin reaction resulting from failure to follow the safety guidelines provided.
11. Children
We welcome children for hair appointments. However, we ask that children are supervised by a parent or guardian at all times while in the salon. We are unable to accept responsibility for unaccompanied children.
Please note that some areas of our salon (for example the float room) are not suitable for
children. Please ask us when booking.
12. Complaints
Your satisfaction matters to us. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your visit, please let us know as soon as possible, ideally on the day, so we have the opportunity to put things right.
If you wish to raise a formal complaint, please contact us in writing within 14 days of your appointment, providing as much detail as possible. We will respond within 14 working days.
We are committed to resolving any issues fairly and promptly.
13. Our Liability to You
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
• Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
• Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you in connection with any appointment or treatment is limited to the amount paid by you for that appointment or treatment.
We are not liable for any loss of revenue, profit, or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss or damage, however caused.
14. Your Statutory Rights
These Terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be performed with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and at a reasonable price (where no price was agreed in advance). If a service is not carried out with reasonable care and skill, you may be entitled to have it repeated or to receive a price reduction.
15. Data Protection
We collect and process your personal data in order to manage your bookings and provide our services to you. We process your data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Your data will not be sold to third parties. We may share your data with third parties only where necessary to provide our services (for example, our booking system provider).
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data at any time. Please contact us to exercise these rights or for further information about how we use your data.
Our full Privacy Policy is available on our website at www.hairworxpar.co.uk.
16. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website.
Bookings made before a change are governed by the Terms in force at the time of booking.
